Minister of Transport Inspects King Khalid International Airport

Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser yesterday conducted an inspection tour of the development projects at King Khalid International Airport, where he directed officials to accelerate efforts and maintain high performance levels in line with the development plans and objectives of the civil aviation strategy. Al-Jasser highlighted the significance of the master plan for King Salman International Airport, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as a pivotal step in transforming the aviation sector in Saudi Arabia. The aim is to expand the sector's services and economic contributions, position Riyadh as a global aviation hub, and support the growth of transportation, tourism, and trade. Al-Jasser said that King Salman International Airport is poised to become one of the world's largest airports, with a capacity of up to 120 million passengers by 2030. The airport's long-term goal is to reach 185 million pass engers and handle 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050. This expansion will contribute to economic and developmental diversity and align with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, as outlined in Vision 2030.
