Riyadh: The Ministerial Committee of Traffic Safety has released its 2024 annual report on traffic safety in the Kingdom. The report reviewed the committee's work and its efforts to achieve the ambitious goal of ranking the Kingdom among the leading nations in traffic safety. This is pursued through projects and initiatives focused on developing road infrastructure, enhancing pedestrian and road user safety, and managing vehicle traffic with the best approved national and international standards.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the report details key traffic accident data and statistics, performance indicators, achievements of relevant authorities, a summary of committee decisions, and strategic targets up to 2026.
The numbers highlight the committee's focus and hard work in reaching several 2024 strategic performance goals. The road traffic death rate (per 100,000 people) fell to 12.13, and the injury rate (per 100,000 people) also decreased to 68.21.
