Baku: On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail will lead the Saudi delegation to the 13th World Urban Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan, from May 17 to 22, joining global leaders and experts to address the theme "Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities."
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Hogail affirmed that the Kingdom's participation embodies its active international presence and its role in supporting global efforts to build more sustainable, prosperous cities with an improved quality of life. He expressed his appreciation for the generous trust and unlimited support from the wise leadership, which serves as a vital incentive to enhance the Kingdom's contributions to urban development and reflect its standing on the global stage.
During the forum, the Saudi delegation will showcase its most prominent national initiatives and pioneering experiences in housing, urban planning, urban landscape development, and city humanization. The delegation will also highlight municipal investment strategies and the digital transformation of municipal services, alongside projects that have increased city efficiency and improved the level of services provided to residents.
This participation underscores the Kingdom's significant achievements in urban development and enhancing the quality of life under the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. It also aims to strengthen international partnerships, facilitate the exchange of expertise, and support innovative solutions to urban challenges.
Organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the World Urban Forum is a leading international event that brings together decision-makers and city leaders to discuss the future of urban environments and review global best practices.
