Municipalities Ministry Completes Integrated Operational Plan for 1447 AH Hajj Season

Makkah: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has completed its operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, establishing an integrated system to enhance response times and operational efficiency in high-density areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the plan includes 66 service centers, with 28 located at the holy sites. These centers will serve as field support hubs to ensure service continuity and faster handling of reports. The initiative also involved upgrading facilities and logistical sites, along with the construction of 20 pedestrian bridges and 18 tunnels aimed at improving crowd flow and traffic movement.

Additionally, the ministry undertook extensive infrastructure works, laying over 11 million linear meters of roads and developing around 74 million square meters of road surfaces. Preparations were also strengthened for 123 bridges, 44 pedestrian and vehicle tunnels, and 62 additional tunnels. More than 330,000 lighting units and 150,000 lighting poles have been installed across Makkah and the holy sites, enhancing safety and service efficiency for pilgrims.
