Riyadh: The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing stressed the necessity for workers involved in food and public health sectors to acquire health certificates. This move is aimed at promoting and safeguarding public health, ensuring adherence to health and municipal regulations, protecting consumers, and mitigating health risks associated with service and food-related activities.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a health certificate is a fundamental requirement for employees in various food establishments and businesses linked to public health. This encompasses a wide array of activities and professions, including restaurants, caf©s, bakeries, food retail outlets, barbershops, women's beauty salons, laundries, and wellness and body care centers.
The issuance of health certificates is conducted electronically via the Balady platform and application. Applications can be submitted by the worker or a representative of the establishment. Subsequently, applicants must fulfill the necessary procedures to verify the profession, business license, and licensed activity as per the approved regulations.
The ministry further clarified that health certificates are valid for one year from the issuance date and can be renewed up to 60 days before they expire. It encouraged workers and business owners to take advantage of the digital services offered through the Balady platform and application to complete the health certificate issuance and renewal processes conveniently and efficiently.
