The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli Knesset's approval of draft laws prohibiting the activities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories. The MWL stated that such action reflects a systematic continuation of violations by the Israeli occupation authorities, targeting politically and militarily the UN agencies, its relief organizations, and its resolutions related to the rights of the Palestinian people. In a statement by the MWL General Secretariat, MWL Secretary-General and Organization of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa renewed support and solidarity with UNRWA in its humanitarian mission to assist Palestinian refugees. He also warned of the grave consequences of these ongoing Israeli violations of international and humanitarian laws, which undermine all efforts to end the suffering in the Palestinian territories and to achieve a comprehensive and just peace.
