Dakar: National personnel are participating in the Makkah Route Initiative, implemented in Senegal for the first time since its launch in 2017 across several countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Supervisor of the initiative team in Senegal, Colonel Adel Al-Rashidi, confirmed that the initiative is a Ministry of Interior effort under the Pilgrim Experience Program, one of the programs of Vision 2030.
He explained that the initiative is being implemented this year in 10 countries, with Senegal joining for the first time. Al-Rashidi noted that the initiative aims to facilitate and accelerate procedures for pilgrims at departure airports, reducing waiting times at Hajj terminals upon arrival in the Kingdom and enhancing the overall level of service provided.
He added that pilgrims are received upon arrival by dedicated buses transporting them directly to their accommodations in Makkah or Madinah with ease and tranquility.
