NCVC Commences Reseeding Initiative in Qaryat Al-Ulya

Qaryat Al-Ulya:The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has initiated the sowing of wild and rangeland plant seeds in Qaryat Al-Ulya Governorate, located in the Eastern Region. This effort is part of the third season of its broader initiative aimed at rehabilitating natural rangelands through reseeding and rainwater harvesting, aligning with the 2026 National Greening Season objectives.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative's goals include expanding vegetation cover, restoring degraded lands, rehabilitating rangelands, and promoting environmental sustainability. These efforts are in line with the national targets for conserving natural resources.

The NCVC employs a strategy of directly sowing native seeds that are well-suited to the local environment and the Kingdom's various vegetation zones. The sites for reseeding are carefully selected to ensure successful rehabilitation, the preservation of plant genetic resources, and to assist species in adapting to different climatic conditions.
