NCVC Rehabilitates Ancient Acacia Tree in Dawadmi

Dawadmi: The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), in cooperation with several government and local entities, has carried out field operations to rehabilitate an ancient acacia tree at the entrance to Dawadmi Governorate after it was toppled by heavy rains and strong winds.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the intervention followed a report on the tree's condition, prompting the formation of a joint team that included representatives from relevant agencies, alongside a specialized technical team from the center, to restore the tree to its natural state.

Initial field measures included pruning and removing damaged sections of the tree. A technical rehabilitation plan was also developed, and natural support materials were used to stabilize the tree and protect it from erosion, improving its chances of survival and long-term sustainability.

The tree has since been repositioned and stabilized, while environmental teams continue follow-up treatment and field monitoring ahead of issuing a detailed assessment report.
