Diffa:A new restaurant spearheaded by local entrepreneur Hajia Oumma officially opened its doors on Sunday, November 1, 2026, within the artisan village of Diffa. This initiative aims to promote local food products, valorize regional culinary heritage, and create job opportunities for young people.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the restaurant is designed to provide a welcoming and friendly environment for the people of Diffa, suitable for gatherings and family or friend relaxation, while offering a variety of dishes inspired by local culinary traditions.
Beyond its commercial purpose, the initiative seeks to promote local terroir products and preserve local gastronomic expertise. It aims to highlight the region's available food resources, encourage their consumption, and contribute to their valorization through a dining experience aligned with the local population's habits and expectations.
This project illustrates the contribution of female entrepreneurship to local economic development, particularly through income-generating activities and the prospect of new employment opportunities for the youth.
During the opening ceremony, Hajia Oumma expressed her satisfaction with the project's completion and thanked the guests and all those who contributed to its realization. She particularly acknowledged the support of the Regional Director of Tourism and Handicrafts of Diffa, Mr. Idrissa Chaibou.
Mr. Idrissa Chaibou, in his remarks, congratulated the entrepreneur for this initiative and encouraged it, emphasizing the importance of supporting entrepreneurial actions, especially those led by women, in promoting local potential.
