Makkah: The National Water Company (NWC) announced the successful completion of its operational plan for the 1447 AH Hajj season, distributing more than 45 million cubic meters of water to pilgrims in Makkah and the holy sites from the beginning of Dhu Al-Qadah until the end of the season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, water distribution operations were carried out smoothly through networks extending more than 5,700 kilometers, in addition to over 4,000 kilometers of wastewater networks. Throughout the season, pumping operations continued around the clock in the Grand Mosque and the holy sites, while treated water volumes exceeded 31 million cubic meters. More than 100,000 laboratory tests were also conducted.
NWC confirmed that no operational disruptions were recorded in Makkah and the holy sites during the season, adding that preparations have already begun for the 1448 AH Hajj season.
