OIC Secretary General Meets with Executive Director of OIC’s Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission

Jeddah-- Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha at his office today met with Executive Director of OIC's Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (OIC-IPHRC) Dr. Nourah Al-Rashoud.

During the meeting, Taha congratulated Al-Rashoud on her appointment as the first woman to uphold this position since the establishment of the commission, expressing his confidence in her excellence and expertise to carry out her duties and offer consultation on human rights issues of concern to the organization, mainly the Palestinian and Jerusalem affairs, women's and children's rights, Islamophobia, Muslim minorities, the right to development and the permanent mechanism for monitoring the human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir region.

Dr. Al-Rashoud reiterated her keenness to achieve the objectives of the commission and her aspiration to work with the General Secretariat and the various OIC departments to achieve the envisioned goals of the commission and to carry out her tasks and activities that serve the interests of the Islamic world.
