One Million Seedlings Planted in Al-Jouf to Enhance Natural Pastures

Al-jouf: The National Center for Vegetation Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC) continues its planting efforts, with Al-Jouf Region witnessing the cultivation of one million seedlings for seed production. This achievement reflects the center's expanding initiatives to develop natural pastures and enhance vegetation sustainability across the Kingdom, in line with the Saudi Green Initiative and efforts to preserve and develop natural resources.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project included planting various native plant species suited to the Kingdom's rangeland environments, characterized by their grazing value, drought tolerance, adaptability to desert conditions, contribution to soil stabilization, and role in combating desertification. They also serve as habitats for birds and wildlife, absorb carbon dioxide, and produce oxygen.

The center continues to rehabilitate and protect vegetation sites, restore biodiversity in natural ecosystems, and supervise rangelands, forests, and national parks, while safeguarding natural resources and biodiversity.
