Palestine Requests Emergency Arab League Meeting to Address Israeli Actions

Cairo: The State of Palestine submitted an urgent request to convene an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives as soon as possible to discuss Arab and international action to address recent aggressive decisions issued by the Israeli occupation government.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Palestine's Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, stated that the request comes in response to decisions aimed at expanding settlements, demolishing homes, seizing private and public land, and transferring the powers of the Hebron Municipality to the so-called 'Civil Administration' of the occupation authorities. These measures are also seen as undermining the status and sanctity of the Ibrahimi Mosque.

He emphasized that these actions are part of a broader pattern of Israel's comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people, their land, holy sites, and properties, further entrenching annexation and expansion policies.

Al-Aklouk urged Arab League member states to engage in action at both bilateral and multilateral levels to curb these practices, which pose a threat to security, stability, and peace in the region and beyond.
