Palestinian Health Ministry announces the martyrdom of a doctor and the rise in health martyrs in Gaza to 496 martyrs

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll of the health system in the Gaza Strip had risen to 496 since last October 7, following the martyrdom of doctor Adnan Al-Barsh in the Israeli Ofer prison. The Palestinian Health Ministry indicated in a statement last night that Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh is the head of the orthopedic department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, and the Israeli occupation army arrested him, along with health personnel, last December. It said in its statement: 'The murder of Dr. Adnan Al-Barsh, in the Israeli occupation prisons, raised the death toll in the health sector in Gaza since October 7 to 496,' and that the death toll in the health sector reached 1,500 wounded, in addition to 309 prisoners. It pointed out that "the killing of Doctor Al-Barsh will not be the last crime in light of the complete secrecy of the condition of prisoners in prisons, especially those arrested from the Gaza Strip." The Palestinian Ministry of Health called on "the internationa l community and health and human rights organizations to intervene and protect prisoners in prisons from torture, terrorism and murder." It explained that the martyrdom of Al-Barsh, head of the orthopedic department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, occurred 'under torture inside the Israeli occupation prisons.
