Riyadh: Djiboutian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahmoud Ali Youssouf emphasized that the Palestinian people have been enduring brutal criminal aggression aimed at their liquidation and eradication for over a year, particularly in the Gaza Strip. The statement was made during his participation at the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit held today in Riyadh. According to Saudi Press Agency, Youssouf highlighted the dire situation in which unprecedented killing and destruction is taking place, while the international community and specialized agencies of the United Nations remain inactive. He criticized their inability to halt the aggressive actions inflicted upon the defenseless Palestinian population. The foreign minister expressed concern over the continuing failure of the international system to uphold its principles and humanitarian values, which are being eroded by the ongoing actions and crimes of the occupation. Youssouf made a passionate appeal to the global conscience, urging for an end to the inter national community's silence and calling for immediate action to stop the brutal massacres. He stressed the need for providing necessary protection for the Palestinian people and emphasized that these must be the current priorities to prevent the further collapse of humanitarian claims.
