Passports Directorate Urges Citizens to Secure Passports, Verify Validity Before Travel

Riyadh: The General Directorate of Passports has urged citizens planning to travel abroad to safeguard their passports from damage or loss, avoid neglecting, pawning, or misusing them, and ensure they are stored in secure locations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the directorate stressed the importance of verifying passport validity for citizens and their companions before departure. Passports must be valid for at least three months when traveling to Arab countries and six months for travel to other destinations. Additionally, citizens traveling to Gulf countries must carry either their passport or national identity card.

The directorate also noted that the digital national identity card available on the Absher and Tawakkalna platforms and the family registration document do not permit travel outside the Kingdom.
