Prophet’s Mosque Audio System Sets International Standards for Sound Transmission

Medina: The audio system at the Prophet's Mosque represents one of the advanced technological systems that contributes to transmitting the voice of the imam and the muezzin, as well as sermons and scholarly lessons, to worshippers and visitors with high clarity throughout the mosque's corridors and courtyards through a modern technical infrastructure that meets the highest international standards in sound systems.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the system relies on three main components: the primary system, the backup system, and the emergency system, ensuring the continuity of sound transmission under all conditions. It is supported by an advanced network of audio devices, managed by specialized engineering and technical staff who monitor performance and control sound levels within the Prophet's Mosque.

The audio system includes thousands of speakers distributed throughout the mosque, its expansions, roof, courtyards, and minarets, as well as speakers installed in service facilities, parking areas, and roads leading to the mosque, ensuring that sound reaches worshippers and visitors clearly across different locations.

The system also includes several microphones distributed across multiple locations, enabling the accurate transmission of prayers, sermons, and scholarly lessons. The audio system is also connected to the radio and television broadcasting network to transmit the rituals from the Prophet's Mosque to the Islamic world.

The audio control room is one of the specialized technical facilities at the Prophet's Mosque, where the audio system is operated and the equipment is continuously monitored. The room is also used to record prayers and sermons and control sound levels as needed, contributing to providing a clear and comfortable listening experience for worshippers and visitors.
