Public Participation Opens for 2027 International Falcon Release Under Hadad Program

Riyadh: The National Center for Falcons has opened public participation for the 2027 international release under the Hadad Program, which seeks to reintroduce falcons into their natural habitats.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Hadad Program will accept non-captive-bred saker and peregrine falcons, subject to the program's approved participation requirements and standards. Falcons will be received at the center's headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, from August 18 to November 18. Upon receipt, the falcons will undergo examination, assessment, and rehabilitation in accordance with approved scientific procedures in preparation for their release as part of the 2027 international program.

The initiative aims to engage the falconry community in conservation and biodiversity efforts while strengthening its role in preserving the heritage of falconry. It allows owners to help return them to their natural habitats through a scientific process covering intake, examination, conditioning, release, and monitoring. The Hadad Program reflects the center's efforts to return falcons to the wild, preserve falconry heritage, and strengthen the falconry community's role in conservation and biodiversity.

It also supports the Kingdom's participation in international falcon conservation and release programs.
