Malham: Pure Gyr and Mathlouth Gyr falcons produced by a Slovenian breeding farm are taking part in the International Falcon Breeders Auction 2026, adding to the variety of falcons and breeding lines presented by participating local and international breeders.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event is organized by the National Center for Falcons at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh, and it brings together falcon breeders, producers, falconers, and falcon enthusiasts from Saudi Arabia and abroad. The auction is open daily through August 25.
Abdullah Al-Buainain, owner of the participating Slovenian breeding farm, said the farm is making its debut at the auction with a number of Pure Gyr and Mathlouth Gyr falcons. He affirmed that the diversity of falcons on offer strengthens the event's competitiveness and gives local producers an opportunity to showcase their breeding alongside international production in one venue.
Al-Buainain said such competition between local and international breeders allows participants to compare different levels of production and encourages breeding farms to continue developing their falcons. He described competition as an essential driver of product development, particularly as buyers have more options and can make broader comparisons among the falcons on offer.
