Qardahi calls from Baghdad to legislate a comprehensive Arab law to regulate digital media

The former Lebanese Minister of Information, George Qardahi, called on the Arab League to allocate time and effort to prepare a comprehensive Arab law to regulate digital media. Qardahi said, during his participation in the dialogue session of the Iraqi Arab Media Forum, on the challenges of the Arab media in light of the digital transformation and the AI revolution, which was held by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate in cooperation with the First Lady Magazine, today, Wednesday, in Baghdad: 'Today we are all living a revolution in digital and electronic media, in which artificial intelligence enters, this revolution that quickly swept everyone through smart phone devices, and allowed every individual to be directly connected to events, news and development, and because of electronic media, the phone has never left our hands.' He added: "This digital revolution has two sides, one of which is positive and beautiful, and the other is ugly, negative, destructive and offensive. It violates the privacy of individ uals and societies, and sometimes poses a danger to nations, as it does not respect any charter or principles." The well-known Lebanese journalist, from the platform of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and the Federation of Arab Journalists, issued an urgent appeal in which he appealed to the Arab League for its fundamental role in regulating digital media, which needs regulation, because it violates the freedoms of others and the dignity of people.
