Madinah: The Qiblatain Mosque in Madinah, a cornerstone of Islamic history where the Qibla was changed to the Kaaba in 2 AH (624 CE), is undergoing a comprehensive expansion to accommodate 3,000 worshippers. Located five kilometers west of the Prophet's Mosque, this landmark sees a surge of visitors during Ramadan seeking to connect with its prophetic legacy.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the current development project introduces a cultural center, pedestrian plazas, and advanced accessibility features, including elevators and escalators. These improvements are aimed at enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
To further enhance the visitor experience, the mosque's northeastern courtyards have been equipped with cooling fans and sunshades. These additions ensure a comfortable environment for the growing number of pilgrims and visitors throughout the year.
