Roads General Authority Confirms Readiness of Madinah Network for Hajj 1446 AH

Madinah: The Roads General Authority has confirmed the readiness of the road network in Madinah Region to welcome pilgrims during the Hajj season 1446 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority has implemented projects spanning a total of 3,000 kilometers. These projects include the maintenance of roadside fences, installation of 400 meters of metal and protective barriers, upkeep of 1,000 drainage culverts, inspection and maintenance of 247 bridges, and the asphalting of 35 kilometers of roads. These efforts aim to enhance traffic flow and road quality, ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims throughout their Hajj journey.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to implementing key projects and initiatives to advance the road sector in a way that aligns with its strategic objectives. These objectives include achieving a sixth-place global ranking in the road quality index by 2030, reducing road fatalities to fewer than five per 100,000 people, equipping the road network with safety features, and enhancing the network's overall capacity.
