Fort myers: The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has secured Edison Awards for the sixth consecutive year, recognized for its innovation across five solutions in three categories: Materials Science, Energy and Climate Resiliency, and Water, Food and Agriculture.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SABIC garnered a gold award, two silver awards, and two bronze awards during the ceremony held in Fort Myers, Florida. The event included innovation leaders and experts from various sectors. Dr. Faisal Al-Faqeer, SABIC CEO and Executive Board Member, emphasized that this continued recognition underscores the company's commitment to innovation aligned with market needs, driving growth and reinforcing its vision as a global leader in the chemicals industry.
In the Materials Science category, SABIC received three awards for innovations such as the NORYL (V0150TW / V0150IR2) resin for the solar energy market, the ULTEMS SU3102P reactive oligomer solution for reinforcing thermoplastics in aerospace, and the LNPS ELCRESS NP copolymer for industrial solutions addressing persistent chemical challenges.
The Energy and Climate Resiliency category honored SABIC's HybSi® membrane-based solution, which significantly reduces energy consumption by 70% by replacing energy-intensive distillation processes in chemical drying.
In the Water, Food and Agriculture category, SABIC Agri-Nutrients was acknowledged for a process transforming organic tree waste and mineral fertilizer blends into bio-organic mineral granules, advancing sustainable enhanced urea production.
