Riyadh: Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Dr. Saad Al-Kasabi received a delegation from the Syrian Arab Organization for Standardization and Metrology (SASMO), led by its Director General Yaser Alaiwi, to discuss enhancing technical cooperation and developing integration pathways between the two sides in the fields of standards, quality, and conformity assessment.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting covered a number of collaborative initiatives. Key topics included the exchange of experiences, expertise, and legislation in national quality infrastructure, as well as the alignment of priority standards. The discussions also centered around the examination of mutual recognition mechanisms, certificates, and quality marks. Additionally, the formation of joint working teams was proposed to facilitate the exchange of expertise and the implementation of specialized technical programs, aiming to reduce technical barriers and enhance trade exchange between both parties.
