Saudi Arabia Condemns Attempts to Disrupt Strait of Hormuz and Global Waterways

Riyadh: On behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji participated by video conference in a meeting of the foreign ministers of MED9 member states, Arab League member states, and partner countries from the Western Balkans. The vice minister delivered remarks affirming the Kingdom's rejection and condemnation of any attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz or disrupt international waterways. He stressed that freedom of navigation is a fundamental principle guaranteed by law and must be respected and preserved. According to Acting SPA President Reviews Training Progress at Riyadh Academy Riyadh: Acting President of the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Hassan Al-Asmari reviewed the progress of training activities in the graduate empowerment program for media careers (April 2026 cohort) at the SPA News Academy. Al-Asmari, who also serves as Chairman of the academy's Board of Trustees, engaged with trainees during a visit to the academy's specialized programs building located in the Al-Rayyan district. According to Saudi Press Agency, the program is supported by the Human Resources Development Fund and aims to qualify and empower national talent for specialized media professions. This is achieved through a combination of theoretical and practical training tracks designed to equip trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge. The first cohort of the program includes more than 300 trainees who have been enrolled across eight specialized media diplomas. These participants were selected from a pool of over 10,000 applicants from across the Kingdom. The initiative is part of the academy's broader efforts to contribute to media transformation by investing in human capital development.
