Riyadh: Saudi professionals achieved notable recognition in Arab and international health awards in 2025, highlighted by Professor of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at King Saud University Dr. Ahmed bin Salem BaHammam being named Arab Physician of the Year 2025 in the scientific research and innovation category by the Council of Arab Health Ministers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this achievement reflects the scientific and research progress taking place in the Kingdom. Saudi universities and research centers have made major advances in research output and innovation, improving their international rankings and strengthening the Kingdom's position as a regional and global research hub. These accomplishments underscore the leadership's support for scientific research and talent development under Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia's health sector has also earned wide international recognition. In 2025, it won an award and 19 international medals at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, confirming its leadership in health innovation and smart solutions. Saudi health facilities also received nine prestigious honors at the International Customer Experience Awards, demonstrating the success of health transformation efforts and the high quality of services.
The Kingdom plays an active role in strengthening Arab healthcare by leading public health initiatives, combating epidemics, and developing health governance programs adopted by several Arab countries.
