Tunis:Saudi Arabia's strides in the palm and dates sector were prominently featured during an international workshop focused on global marketing and promotion of dates.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Eman Al-Fraidi, Director General of Strategies and Business Development at the International Dates Council, highlighted the kingdom's advancements in production, marketing, and exports. The discussion emphasized Saudi Arabia's efforts to enhance the added value of its dates and expand into international markets.
Key elements of the Saudi approach include transitioning from mere production to building an integrated value chain that enhances brand recognition and economic value globally. Data from the National Center for Palms and Dates indicates that Saudi Arabia's dates production surpassed 1.9 million tons in 2025, encompassing over 37 million palm trees. The export value of Saudi dates reached approximately SAR1.938 billion, marking a 14.3% increase compared to 2024, with exports reaching over 125 countries.
The workshop presentation stressed the significance of advancing international marketing through brand identity development, improved distribution channels, e-commerce utilization, and partnerships with global institutions and companies.
