According to Saudi Press Agency, Vice Minister of Tourism Princess Haifa bint Mohammed represented the Kingdom at the meeting, highlighting Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in shaping the future of tourism. Princess Haifa emphasized the Kingdom's dedication to advancing tourism growth and sustainability, stating that collaboration and shared ideas are essential for lasting transformation. She introduced TOURISE, a global platform for action and collaboration, inviting global participation to design the future of tourism.
The Kingdom's participation in the G20 Tourism Ministerial Meeting as a permanent member allowed it to influence the final ministerial declaration, ensuring that sustainability, digital transformation, inclusivity, and skills development are prioritized in global tourism policy. A TOURISE-sponsored ministerial dinner was hosted by the vice minister, further promoting collaboration among public and private sector leaders.
Saudi Arabia's tourism sector is experiencing rapid growth, with 116 million domestic and inbound visitors expected in 2024, surpassing its target of 100 million annual visitors by 2030 for the second consecutive year. This growth is driven by significant investments in destinations, flight routes, and tourism infrastructure, including projects like NEOM, Qiddiya, and Diriyah, positioning the Kingdom as a global hub for tourism, investment, and innovation.
