Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire in Lebanon. The Kingdom has expressed its appreciation for the efforts aimed at bringing peace to the region.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry praised the significant positive role played by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, the Lebanese government under Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri. The Ministry highlighted their contributions to the ceasefire and their ongoing efforts in maintaining stability in Lebanon.
In its statement, the Ministry reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's support for the Lebanese state. It emphasized the importance of extending Lebanon's sovereignty and confining weapons to legitimate state institutions. Furthermore, the Ministry recognized the Lebanese government's reform steps and its commitment to preserving the country's resources, safety, and territorial integrity.
