Saudi Arabia Wins Two Golds and One Bronze at Balkan Mathematical Olympiad 2026

Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia's national mathematics team won three international medals - two gold and one bronze - at the 43rd Balkan Mathematical Olympiad 2026, held in Thessaloniki from May 3 to 8, with the participation of around 148 students representing 24 countries. According to Saudi Press Agency, student Abdulilah Mohammed Al-Saqqaf from the General Administration of Education in Jeddah won a gold medal, while Abdulsalam Abdullah Al-Sulami from the General Administration of Education in Madinah also secured a gold medal. Elias Shaker Al-Faraj from Eastern Region Education Department earned a bronze medal. The Kingdom's total tally in this Olympiad has reached 68 international awards since its first participation in 2010, including four gold medals, 14 silver medals, 46 bronze medals, and four certificates of appreciation. This participation comes within the framework of the international Olympiads program run by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education. The program provides students with a comprehensive preparation journey, including national competitions and specialized training programs supervised by local and international experts.
