Saudi Committee Reviews Readiness for Asian Cup 2027, Other Continental Events

Riyadh: The board of directors of the local organizing committee for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 in Saudi Arabia held its regular meeting in Riyadh on Sunday, chaired by board Chairman Yasser Al Misehal.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, members discussed a range of organizational and technical files related to Saudi Arabia's preparations to host the continental showpiece. The board also reviewed progress across executive programs and the latest developments in coordination with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) and other relevant stakeholders. It examined the readiness of stadiums and sports facilities, as well as operational plans and related organizational aspects.

These efforts aim to ensure that all preparation phases are implemented in line with the highest approved standards, reflecting Saudi Arabia's advanced standing as a host of major global sporting events. The meeting also addressed preparations for other upcoming continental tournaments, most notably the AFC U23 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026, the AFC Champions League Elite (ACL Elite) Finals Jeddah 2026, and the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026.

Organizers emphasized coordinating efforts among all relevant entities and leveraging experience gained from previous major events. The goal is to deliver a seamless organizational and fan experience that highlights Saudi Arabia's capabilities and expertise in hosting world-class tournaments.
