Riyadh: Saudi Arabia's Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, held a meeting yesterday with Qatar's Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The meeting focused on enhancing security cooperation and coordination between the two countries, addressing issues of mutual interest.
According to Saudi Press Agency, following their meeting, Prince Abdulaziz and Sheikh Khalifa co-chaired the fourth meeting of the Security and Military Committee, which is part of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. Prince Abdulaziz highlighted that the committee's meeting was convened under the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reflecting the strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the agreements from the eighth meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, chaired by the Crown Prince and the Emir of Qatar, represent the historical ties between the countries and bolster cooperation in security and military sectors. He stressed the necessity of enhancing efforts and coordination to tackle regional and international challenges, aiming to fulfill the aspirations of both nations' leaderships and citizens for enhanced security, stability, and prosperity.
