Madinah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) branch in Madinah Region has introduced an electric ambulance to its field services, enhancing emergency response times and improving the efficiency of initial interventions in densely populated areas.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the rollout offers a smart, high-quality solution designed for emergency medical operations in crowded environments. The new vehicle boasts high maneuverability, navigating open spaces and narrow passageways with ease. Furthermore, its quiet and environmentally friendly operation preserves the sanctity and tranquil nature of the holy sites where it serves.
By significantly reducing arrival times to emergency cases, the electric ambulance enables field teams to provide rapid initial medical care before patients are transported to medical facilities, if needed. The vehicle is currently deployed at key locations, most notably the Prophet's Mosque, Quba Mosque, and Miqat Mosque, patrolling outer courtyards and internal corridors with a special focus on serving the elderly and people with disabilities.
The authority noted that the ambulance is operated by highly trained paramedics who maintain continuous operational readiness. They work in seamless coordination with the Medical Dispatch Center and other ambulance sectors to ensure rapid, high-quality service for all visitors.
This initiative underscores the SRCA's commitment to modernizing its operational fleet and adopting innovative solutions that enhance public health safety while achieving the highest levels of emergency readiness.
