Nouakchott: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has officially transferred the presidency of the 50th session of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) to its Mauritanian counterpart. The transition of leadership took place during the session's opening in Nouakchott, Mauritania, and was facilitated by Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Farhan, Director General of the International Affairs Department at the SRCA.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the SRCA reflected on its tenure leading the 49th general assembly session, highlighting successes in fostering dialogue and consultation among national societies. The session also emphasized advancing preparedness programs and expanding cooperation and partnerships, all of which bolstered joint Arab humanitarian efforts.
Prince Abdullah bin Faisal expressed gratitude to the national societies and the organization's General Secretariat for their cooperation and solidarity. He noted that these collaborative efforts were instrumental in the success of the previous session and the accomplishment of significant milestones.
Furthermore, Prince Abdullah extended his appreciation to the Mauritanian government, its people, and the Mauritanian Red Crescent for their warm hospitality and exemplary organization of the event. He expressed optimism that the 50th session would continue to enhance unity among national societies and promote Arab humanitarian initiatives.
