Riyadh: The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Saudi Reef) has revealed that support provided since its launch has exceeded SAR4.2 billion to more than 87,235 beneficiaries, aimed at supporting small farmers and families working in the cottage industry across Saudi Arabia in line with Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Reef spokesperson Majed Al-Buraikan stated that the support has contributed to economic and social stability in rural Saudi Arabia, expanding the beneficiary base and achieving tangible results. The program targets eight key agricultural sectors: Saudi coffee production, manufacturing, and marketing; small livestock farmers; beekeeping and honey production; rain-fed crop farming; small fishermen and fish farmers; added value development from small holdings; aromatic plant cultivation; and fruit production and processing.

The program received the FAO Technical Recognition Award for South-South and Triangular Cooperation in the Projects Championing category, as the world's largest agricultural development initiative, for its innovative projects and best practices in food security and agri-food systems.
