Saudi Water Authority Says over 7.2 Million Cubic Meters Distributed since Beginning of Dhu Al-Hijjah

Makkah: The Saudi Water Authority announced that the volume of water distributed in Makkah and the holy sites from Dhu Al-Hijjah 1 through 9 exceeded 7.2 million cubic meters, while total water distributed on the Day of Arafah alone reached 828,113 cubic meters. The distribution coincided with the arrival of pilgrims to Arafat to perform the greatest pillar of Hajj and was carried out through an integrated system designed to meet peak demand with high efficiency and reliability.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority noted that technical and laboratory teams conducted more than 44,236 laboratory tests across various operational sites from the beginning of Dhu Al-Hijjah through the end of the ninth day of the month. On the Day of Arafah alone, 4,978 laboratory tests were conducted to verify water quality and safety and ensure compliance with approved health and operational standards.

The authority stressed the continuation of water-system operations through interconnected operational plans covering production, transmission, storage, and distribution stages. The operations are supported by advanced monitoring and technical systems tracking performance indicators and supply rates around the clock to ensure service continuity and enhance reliability during Eid Al-Adha and the Days of Tashreeq.

The authority added that coordination and integration efforts with relevant entities remain ongoing to support water-supply security and enable pilgrims to perform rituals in Makkah and the holy sites with ease and peace of mind.
