Madinah:The "International Conference on Saudi Arabia's Efforts to Counter Intellectual Deviations," organized by the Islamic University of Madinah, continued with its second-day sessions, bringing together specialized researchers and academics from Saudi Arabia and other countries.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference's fourth session examined the role of the Holy Quran in combating intellectual deviations and highlighted Saudi Arabia's contributions in this field. Discussions included Islamic Sharia perspectives on intellectual deviation, the importance of correcting misconceptions, and preventive strategies to combat intellectual deviation in minority communities, alongside Saudi Arabia's experiences in these areas.
The role of research institutions and educational centers was the focus of the fifth session, which reviewed the efforts of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition in promoting moderation and centrism. Additionally, the contributions of security authorities and Saudi institutions in countering intellectual deviations were discussed, along with the role of Islamic centers in these efforts.
In the sixth session, the activities of the National Center for Mental Health Promotion were reviewed, emphasizing the importance of psychological and intellectual interventions in preventing intellectual deviations.
Overall, the conference features 56 peer-reviewed scientific papers across nine sessions, with the participation of senior officials, representatives of fatwa centers and institutions from Islamic countries, and researchers and specialists from Saudi Arabia and abroad.
