Washington: President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi affirmed that since its establishment in 2019, SDAIA has been proactive in enhancing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure capabilities through the operation of the National Information Center and the launch of the National Data Bank, which is the largest repository of government data in the region. More than 400 major government systems have been integrated under its umbrella. SDAIA has also contributed to the planning, development, and implementation of artificial intelligence policies and to improving and standardizing data quality at the national level.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this came in a speech he delivered during his participation today in the dialogue session held at the US-Saudi Investment Forum 2025 in the United States of America, titled "The Digital Blueprint For Tomorrow's AI World." The session was attended by a number of ministers, government leaders, decision-makers, international experts, and investors from both Saudi Arabia and the United States.
Alghamdi stated that Saudi Arabia is confidently moving towards consolidating its position as a global hub for innovation in AI, indicating that the establishment of SDAIA as an integrated government system has contributed to the planning, development and operation of data and artificial intelligence policies. The SDAIA oversees three main bodies, which include the operational arm that manages the national data infrastructure, represented by the National Information Center; the regulatory arm, represented by the National Data Management Office; and the innovation and artificial intelligence arm, represented by the National Center for AI.
