Riyadh: The Rural Education Access Project, jointly supported by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and Alawn Foundation for Development, has concluded with the graduation of 150 young women who obtained a teaching diploma accredited by the Yemeni Ministry of Education across four governorates. The project aims to increase girls' educational attainment in rural areas, encourage them to pursue higher education, and reduce illiteracy among rural women by providing qualified female teachers. It also seeks to raise the number of qualified female teachers in public schools and boost female enrollment in general education across the governorates of Hadhramaut, Shabwah, Al-Mahrah, and Lahj.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SDRPY has implemented 265 development projects and initiatives across eight vital sectors: education, health, water, energy, transport, agriculture and fisheries, capacity building and support for the Yemeni government, and development programs in various governorates.
