SDRPY Engages in Key Discussions at Arab Ministerial Forum on Urban Development

Doha: A delegation from the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), led by Assistant Supervisor General and Head of the Projects and Development Initiatives Sector Eng. Hassan Al-Attas, took part in the Arab Ministerial Forum on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in Doha, Qatar.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the program's involvement featured a focused session titled 'Enhancing Urban Resilience in Yemen through Multi-Sectoral Partnerships.' This session stressed the importance of collaborative efforts across the energy, water, and transportation sectors. It highlighted the necessity of strengthening partnerships, increasing community engagement, rebuilding vital urban infrastructure, and equipping cities to fulfill their economic and social functions to improve community stability and foster recovery and growth. The session also pointed to the significant role of culture and heritage in bolstering urban identity and resilience.

Moreover, SDRPY conducted several bilateral meetings on the margins of the forum to discuss potential avenues for enhancing cooperation to support Yemen's development endeavors.

SDRPY has executed 268 development projects and initiatives across eight crucial sectors: education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, capacity-building for the Yemeni government, and development programs, impacting various Yemeni governorates.
