SDRPY Highlights Urban Recovery Efforts, Signs UN-Habitat Agreement at WUF13 in Azerbaijan

Makkah: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) is participating in the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Azerbaijan, a global event organized by UN-Habitat that convenes decision-makers, experts, and international organizations focused on sustainable urban development.

According to Saudi Press Agency, SDRPY's participation features a pavilion showcasing its development experience, projects, and initiatives across various Yemeni governorates to support urban recovery and sustainable development. Visitors, including officials, international organization representatives, delegations, and media outlets, were briefed on the program's development efforts and their positive impact through displays, figures, and beneficiary stories.

The pavilion also distributes multilingual brochures highlighting SDRPY's support for vital sectors, including education, health, energy, water, transportation, agriculture and fisheries, development programs, and capacity building for the Yemeni government. These initiatives have directly contributed to improving the daily lives of the Yemeni people.

Additionally, the program hosted a dialogue session titled "Urban Recovery Insights from the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen," detailing an approach that integrates vital sectors and partners with local, regional, international, and UN organizations to sustain development impact, enhance urban stability, and improve essential services.

The event also marked the signing of the second-phase agreement for the Adequate Housing Project in partnership with UN-Habitat, alongside several bilateral meetings with participating entities. Visitors interacting with SDRPY representatives learned about the program's 287 development projects and initiatives, which serve the Yemeni people across eight vital sectors throughout various governorates.
