Riyadh: The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) today launched the second annual AlUla Honey Season, held over the weekend at AlManshiyah Farmers Market in AlUla, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the agricultural sector and strengthen AlUla's position as a center for diversified agricultural production. According to Saudi Press Agency, the event is part of AlUla's Khayrat Seasons, a series of successive agricultural seasons that include the Summer Fruits season, AlUla Dates Season, and AlUla Citrus Season. These initiatives form part of an integrated strategy to showcase biodiversity, enhance the economic value of agricultural outputs, and boost the competitiveness of AlUla's products locally and globally. Beekeepers from AlUla Governorate and its affiliated centers participated in the season, showcasing a variety of locally produced honey. AlUla is renowned for the diversity of its honey production, attributed to its rich environmental diversity and the abundance of wild trees and seasonal flowers, r esulting in natural honey of high quality and nutritional value. The season serves as an interactive platform to highlight the quality of agricultural products in the governorate and to enable visitors to learn about production stages and beekeeping methods, contributing to increased agricultural awareness and support for local products. It also reflects RCU's efforts to develop the agricultural sector and promote economic sustainability in line with AlUla's vision and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a diversified and sustainable economy.
