Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, the CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), held a series of meetings with similar regulatory authorities on the sidelines of his official visit to the Republic of Ireland to attend the 4th Meeting of International Heads of Food Agencies Forum (IHFAF).

Dr. Aljadhey and his accompanying delegation first met with the Deputy Director General of the New Zealand Food Safety (NZFS) of the New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industry (MPI), Vincent Arbuckle. They discussed the regulatory systems of both sides and the local priorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding food safety, food security, and food waste. Additionally, they reviewed the New Zealand experience in harmonizing laboratory testing practices and reporting on antimicrobial resistance.

Next, they met with Dr. Tan Lee Kim, the CEO of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA), to exchange knowledge and information on new food sources and review the regulatory systems of both sides.

SFDA's delegation also held meetings with the General Secretariat of the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSA) and the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, during which they discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two sides and reviewed the regulatory systems of both parties concerning food.
