Strategically located at a crossroads linking the Kingdom's south to the north and the east to the west, Sharurah is witnessing significant development aimed at enhancing the quality of life for its residents.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a budget of SAR200 million has been allocated for infrastructure projects to improve traffic flow and facilitate access across the governorate. New initiatives include the "Developmental Housing" project, which provides affordable units to meet growing community needs, and the opening of a new 200-bed hospital equipped with the latest medical technologies to provide exceptional healthcare services.
Complementing these major developments, the Sharurah Municipality is enhancing the city's urban appeal through projects totaling over SAR20.7 million. This includes SAR7 million allocated to street, sidewalk, and lighting maintenance, and approximately SAR3.9 million for green spaces and irrigation networks. Additionally, SAR9.9 million has been allocated to cleaning services for the governorate and its affiliated centers. The municipality has also developed five parks featuring expansive green spaces and sports facilities for families.
Sharurah is cementing its position as a tourist destination through events such as the Sharurah Winter Festival, which attracts visitors from across the Kingdom and abroad with a diverse program that caters to all age groups. Key activities include heritage shows, folk arts, camel and equestrian races, falconry, and a desert car rally, alongside popular markets and exhibitions supporting productive families.
