Jakarta: Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation participating in the 19th session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Member States (PUIC), held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in a press statement on the occasion, Al Al-Sheikh said that the Kingdom, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues its unwavering and ongoing support for all efforts that promote unity within the Islamic world. This commitment stems from the Kingdom's pioneering role, central position, and constant dedication to fostering the values of cooperation and solidarity in a way that serves the causes of the Islamic world and humanity at large, while also enhancing stability and development.
Al Al-Sheikh stressed the pivotal role that legislative councils and parliaments play in boosting cooperation and integration among Islamic countries. He highlighted the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in building bridges of communication and fostering friendly and cooperative relations among nations, praising the important role of the PUIC and its active efforts in supporting shared causes.
