Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh is scheduled to start an official visit to Qatar at the head of a Shura Council delegation, in response to an invitation from Qatari Shura Council Speaker Hassan Al-Ghanim.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al Al-Sheikh noted that the visit reflects the commitment of the leaderships of both countries to boosting the deep-rooted bonds and fraternal ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar, as well as enhancing cooperation and coordination across various fields to support their existing partnership and pursue broader prospects for bilateral relations.
He highlighted that bilateral visits, whether at the level of council speakers or parliamentary friendship committees, serve as an essential channel for expanding cooperation, unifying perspectives on various issues, strengthening parliamentary partnership, and deepening relations across all areas.
He added that the visit underscores the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting bilateral ties and enhancing coordination on shared positions regarding regional and international matters. It also advances joint Gulf cooperation, in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the visit, the Shura Council speaker will hold an official meeting with his Qatari counterpart, and the two councils will also sign a memorandum of understanding to develop and strengthen parliamentary cooperation.
