stc Boosts Network Capacity in Makkah and Madinah During Ramadan

Makkah: stc group announced the completion of a comprehensive plan to strengthen its digital readiness and technical capabilities on the advent of Ramadan, as millions of Muslims from around the world travel to Makkah and Madinah to perform Umrah and visit the Two Holy Mosques.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the group expanded network capacity and widened coverage across Makkah, Madinah, and other major cities in the Kingdom to ensure reliable, high-quality connectivity throughout the blessed month.

To meet the surge in demand during Ramadan, stc increased the capacity of its 4G and 5G networks, aiming to improve performance and reduce response times in the most crowded areas. The company also enhanced indoor coverage by adding new network sites and boosting the capacity of existing sites, thereby ensuring distinguished digital services for both visitors and residents.

As part of these upgrades, stc deployed two additional frequency bands, 600 MHz and 3800 MHz, in key locations across Makkah and Madinah to improve coverage and increase 5G network capacity and speed inside buildings and densely populated areas.

The company also introduced qualitative improvements to the 4G and 5G networks to enhance voice clarity and data speeds, helping maintain stable service during peak usage times.
