Riyadh:The Abdullah bin Idrees Cultural Center has honored the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, specifically recognizing the "Tarjim" initiative for its role in advancing translation and disseminating Saudi and Arab content across various languages and cultures globally.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ceremony took place at the center's Cultural House located in Riyadh's Al-Taawun district. The event was part of the center's celebration of translating 20 million words as a segment of the broader "Translating a Billion Words" initiative and the release of the 10th issue of the "Wijha" newsletter.
The gathering was attended by linguists and intellectuals and included the recognition of several key institutional and individual initiatives in the translation sector.
"Tarjim" is among the strategic initiatives launched by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission aimed at advancing the cultural sector and enhancing translation to and from Arabic. These efforts are intended to enrich Arabic content, promote cultural and knowledge exchange, and boost the global presence of Saudi literature and culture.
