TGA Extends Age Limit for Heavy Goods Trucks by Six Months

Riyadh:The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced a six-month extension to the operational age limit for trucks involved in heavy goods transport activities. This extension is set to last until March 26, 2027.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the purpose of the extension is to enhance the efficient use of operational assets while providing more flexibility to heavy transport companies in managing their fleets.

The TGA specifies that this extension allows individual vehicles and tractor units used for commercial heavy goods transport to exceed the standard age limit, as long as the vehicles are no more than 22 years old from their manufacturing date.

Additionally, the TGA emphasized that the extension aims to increase the operational capacity and readiness of existing fleets. Companies can benefit from this extension only if they fully comply with all relevant regulatory and technical requirements to ensure vehicle safety and adherence to approved standards.
